Not good

Jason starting throwing up this morning. We took Alli to school and then I asked him if he was good for a quick run to the commissary (co-misery). He said yeah. So we parked and were 1/2 way to the door and he started throwing up again. I felt completely horrible. I thought he threw up the first time from his motrin. I thought I must not have given him enough to eat with it.

Right in the middle of the poor kid throwing up, a sweet lady (who was also a mother with her 2 year old) came running out to us with paper towels. I have no idea who she was or what her name was, but I am forever blessed by her kindness.

Now to get back to work!

Jason's Cast

Here is Jason's cast. Broken arm from falling from the jungle gym at school. He's been so super brave. He has to keep it on for 6 weeks. However, after 2 weeks they are going to cut it off and see if he can rotate his wrist. If he can, he'll get a cast that does not cover his elbow. If he cannot, back to this type of cast.

The 411 on the Schroeders

So what's happening with us...

Jeff is working day shift, YEAH!

Alli is such a fabulous reader that she is in an advanced readers course (which by the way, we didn't know).

Jason is also doing great with reading! They both take 15 minutes at night to read to us.

I am teaching 2 classes this session. Of course I am loving it! I've had to do some tweaking of my schedule and it's still a little chaotic.

One of my dear Cupcakes is leaving the island next week. It is very sad to see a friend leave. I am super excited for her and her family though because they are going to AMERICA! And they will be able to see their family!!!

Today is the first day of the kids' Spring break. Nothing exciting yet but that is going to be short lived. We have a week of fun with friends coming up. I will do my best to document the fun with my camera and post on the blog.

I'm tired of being on the computer, especially since I work on it.

Later Taters!

Blah Blah Blah

Another picture of cupcakes.

These Zoo Lunchies Bags by Skip Hop are so cute!

Why didn't I think of the personalized Guess Who game?!?!!?

Love me some cupcakes!

Crazy Modern Quilts

I love this cover on this book!! I really want to make a quilt some day.

Been Awhile??

It's been awhile... I know. I live with that constant feeling of "you should post to your blog... your people NEED YOU".

First off, although nobody asked MY opinion, I am sick of Dr. Laura. I used to appreciate her boldness. Seems like every time I read her blog, she's just down right rude. I mean SERIOUSLY who asked you?? I know she gets paid and such and is probably a very nice person. I just don't see how she can be so mean all the time.
Okay so here a few fun things I found around the web today. I'm a HUGE NERD and love to read everything. I'm crafty (or wish I was more) and love the creativity that God has blessed this world with.

These bee cards are from I just love ALL her work!

It's easier to post everything individually.

What was I thinking?

This week is the last of the current session at work. The next classes start on the 4th of April. I will be teaching 2 classes instead of one. I just found out 12 hours ago and feel as if I am going to lose my mind trying to figure all this out. We're talking 80+ students' papers to grade 1-2 times per week. 4 hours of live chat sessions. 2 hours of "Office Hours"...

Scrapbooking Thursdays ends this Thursday. The only other day that I have anything is on Tuesdays, Bible Study. I love bible study! The kids and I just started back to church on Sundays. Why does it seem that I won't have enough time? Why am I overwhelmed? Why do I feel guilty going to Bible Study and spending some time with friends when I should be cleaning, doing laundry or grading papers?

I already spent 15+ hours a week on one class.... so 2 will be 30+ hours... Sounds like a "almost" full-time job. Why is this so difficult to understand?

So the facts are:
2 classes
30+ hours a week
Double pay
Double Work
Double papers to grade
Major cutbacks in my already minimal social life

Maybe this will make more sense tomorrow.

For now... I'm going to read books with the kids.

a blah day

20th of January 2010

Weather was good. 75 windy not humid.

After taking the kids to school I was mentally prepared to grade 32 powerpoint presentations. Big Daddy says… cable is out. WHAT!?!?!?!?!!! UGH!!! So I folded laundry and TRIED to do things at my desk that didn’t need the internet or vonage line. Luckily it came back on around 10ish. Spent the day grading powerpoints.

J-man wanted me to color with him, so I took a 10 minute break to enjoy some coloring.
Big Daddy made BBQd ribs tonight. Yummy!

Tomorrow is CUPCAKE TIME!!!! Going to be gone ALL DAY!!!! Gonna love EVERY MINUTE!
Just really want the kids to not have school EVER!!!

Joyce Meyer’s book, “Look Great Feel Great”

Why don’t we take care of ourselves?

• We don’t know how to take care of our physical bodies.
• We have a skewed body image planted in our minds by media and advertising
• We have lost touch with exercise.
• We have let ourselves slip into unworkable lives
• Some have become pathologically selfless
• We have lost our support
• We have forgotten our own value

Do you have any idea how valuable you are? You do not understand your own value. If you did, you wouldn’t treat yourself that way. Maybe you never learned your own importance. Maybe it’s buried under a to-do list that clamored louder for your attention than your own soul did.

God’s value system- It applies to all people and it puts your entire being (body mind, will, emotions, and spirit) right at the top of God’s list of important and valuable things. Only by keeping your spirit, soul, and body in tip-top condition can you truly do God’s work.

Holy Spirit: “I want you to get over this because you are no good to Me in this condition.”

Your body is the temple of your spirit and soul; it is the house they dwell in while on this earth. God’s word says that your body is the temple of GOD! He dwells in those who believe in Him.
1 Corinthians 6:19

Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own.

Each time we push ourselves beyond reasonable limits, we do some damage, and if we do it too often we get to a point where we can’t recover.

The devil will put lots of bad food within easy reach and let you mistake spiritual or emotional hunger for physical hunger.

If you don’t understand your own importance in the Big Plan, taking care of yourself seems pointless. You need to look great and feel great, ready to do whatever God asks of you.

January 18th 2010

I'm going to try this out for awhile and see how I like it. A friend of mine got me started on journaling every day even just a little bit. I love the idea and want to continue to do it. I also realized that I like to email my mom and grandma everyday because I miss and love them. So what if I combine the two and even save time?!!?!?!?!?!?

Let's see how this works out.

Today was in the low 70s. Sunny and beautiful
Worked all morning and went to the commissary in the afternoon. I graded a bunch of papers (luckily I only have 32 students now instead of 40) I also was available for them to ask me any questions.

The kids didn't have school today since it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It was so nice to get an extra day with them. Jeff is drying some of the super hot Japanese peppers. The dehumidifier is in the laundry with the door shut... It was getting a bit "pepper sprayish" in there. LOL Cleaned up and organized my desk.

No flights to Guam for the next 72 hours. It's looking like it's a no go. Can't say I didn't try.

Tomorrow is bible study, YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sun Dogs

Paco saw a Sun Dog in Nebraska!!! BEAUTIFUL!

Typically seen to the left and right of a low-lying sun, sun dogs, or parhelia, can take a number of forms—from slightly brighter segments of a solar halo to rainbow-hued horizontal streaks to blinding spots nearly indistinguishable from the sun itself.
Despite Nebraska's subzero temperatures, sun dogs don't require cold ground temperatures. The atmospheric phenomena can be seen globally in any season. (from

I find cool things all the time on the internet. I usually try to print them off or send them to everyone. I think I am going to start just posting the info here on my blog. So lets give it a try.
